Christmas Mulled Wine

Christmas Mulled Wine

Ingredients:
- 1 (750 ml) bottle of dry red wine
- 1/4 cup brandy (or orange liqueur)
- 1 orange, sliced into rounds (also peeled, if you would like a less-bitter drink)
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 2 to 4 tablespoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup to taste (or your desired sweetener)
- optional garnishes: citrus slices (orange, lemon and/or lime), extra cinnamon sticks, extra star anise

How to cook:
1. Add wine, brandy, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, and 2 tablespoons sweetener to a large saucepan. Stir briefly to combine.
2. Cook the mulled wine on medium-high heat until it just barely reaches a simmer (Avoid letting it bubble)
3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the wine simmer for at least 15 minutes or up to 3 hours.
4. Using a fine mesh strainer, remove and discard the orange slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and star anise.
5. Serve warm in heatproof mugs, topped with your favourite garnishes.

 

聖誕香料紅酒

材料:
- 750 毫升紅葡萄酒
- 1/4 杯白蘭地(或橙利口酒)
- 1個橙,切成8片(如果不想成品太苦可選擇去皮)
- 2 支肉桂棒 2 個八角 2-4 湯匙糖、蜂蜜或楓糖漿(或您想要的甜味劑)
- 可隨意加入:柑橘片(橙、檸檬和/或酸橙)、肉桂棒、八角 

烹飪方法:
1. 在大平底鍋中加入葡萄酒、白蘭地、橙片、丁香、肉桂、八角和 2 湯匙甜味劑,攪拌混合。
2. 用中高火煮熱葡萄酒,直到它剛好沸騰(避免讓它冒泡)
3. 將火量降至最低,蓋上蓋子,讓葡萄酒燉至少 15 分鐘或最多 3 小時。
4. 使用細網過濾器,取出並丟棄橙片、丁香、肉桂條和八角。
5. 倒在耐熱杯中趁熱食用,並可在上面放上您最喜歡的裝飾品,大功告成!
