Pearled barley is barley grain that has been processed to remove the outer hull and bran. It is a wonderfully versatile grain with a rich nutty flavour and a delicious chewy, pasta-like texture.

USES

Suggested Usage

It is not necessary to pre-soak Pearled Barley however, it does require a decent time to cook.Add 1 cup of pearl barley to 2 cups of water or broth then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer and cook covered for about 40-50 minutes, or until tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

Pre-cooked Barley can also be used in salads and as a savoury filling for stuffed capsicums. It can be mixed with vegetables, herbs and cheese then loaded into capsicum and baked
